Otter Tail Power Company is seeking a detail driven, customer focused Transportation & Business Support Coordinator to join our Transportation team and help power the essential work that keeps our fleet, field operations, and customer service functions running smoothly. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting both Transportation and Operations by managing a wide range of administrative, compliance, and fleet support responsibilities. You will help ensure our vehicles and equipment stay licensed, permitted, safe, and ready for the field while also supporting financial, payroll, and reporting activities that keep our operations aligned and efficient. This is a highly collaborative position, working closely with Area Managers, Operations Managers, Transportation leadership, and field employees across the service territory.
As our Transportation & Business Support Coordinator, you will: * Coordinate vehicle and trailer licensing, permitting, and prorate requirements, ensuring compliance within the OTP service territory. * Support fleet repair and maintenance activities through work order tracking and scheduling. * Manage pool vehicle scheduling, records, and reporting. * Provide financial and business support including payroll, purchase card administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory support, and general ledger activities. * Process and manage reporting requirements such as DOT mileage and fuel card administration. * Maintain contract files, fleet and asset records, and other key operational documentation. * Serve as an essential link between office and field staff, supporting efficient, well coordinated operations across Transportation and Customer Service.
This position is primarily based onsite at the Fergus Falls Fleet Shop, supporting a dynamic team committed to safety, reliability, and exceptional service.
Qualifications: * An Associate degree or equivalent work experience in utility operations, transportation/fleet operations, accounting, or a related field (preferred). * Working knowledge of company accounting and financial systems, spreadsheets, and professional business communication. * Experience supporting time reporting, payroll, purchasing, inventory, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger platforms (such as Oracle). * Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to work across both field and office environments. * Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast paced and distributed operational setting. * Knowledge of vehicle and trailer licensing, permitting, and prorate requirements within the OTP service area. * Experience working within or alongside collective bargaining agreements (preferred). * Knowledge of vehicle and trailer licensing, permitting, and prorate requirements within the OTP service area. * Experience working within or alongside collective bargaining agreements (preferred).
