Librarian, Metadata Operations and Services Description The Librarian for Metadata Operations and Services serves acritical role in providing the ASU community with seamless accessto the Librarys extensive collection of print and digitalresources. Reporting to the Unit Head for Acquisitions and Metadata Services, the Librarian, Metadata Operations and Services providesstrategic direction and supervision to a team of metadata staff andis responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating team members.Working collaboratively with Library colleagues and communitypartners, this position leads and coordinates initiatives tooptimize resource discovery by fostering workflow innovation andimplementing recognized and emerging metadata standards. Theposition also directs and manages the units authority controlactivities and the Librarys participation in national cooperativeprograms. The ASU Library is a center of energy, imagination, andinnovation, with nine library facilities across four ASU campuslocations. We provide students and faculty access to millions ofinformation resources, world-class collections, outstanding studyspaces, advanced data centers, and a suite of maker spaces andcreative services.
